From June 19 to 22 four Robusters joined the International Pink Sisters to take part in the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival. We were there to help the teams from Abreast in a Boat celebrate the 30th anniversary of breast cancer survivor dragon boating and their role in proving the benefits of exercise for cancer patients. Dr. MacKenzie spoke about the experience of setting up the original team and 13 surviving members joined him on stage.
International Pink Sisters included paddlers from all parts of North America – from Alaska to Florida and Texas as well as from the Maritimes to the west coast. It was a heart warming opportunity to share stories and create new ones with other women who have overcome breast cancer.
