Thanks to a grant from the RDKB and the wonderful Snowball Creek Services gang, the new Robuster bench is in place.  Wanda Mears’ son has picked up the old bench and plans to repair and install it in his father’s garden. The Mears family donated the funds for that bench in memory of Wanda.

A new plaque has this inscription under the heading: The Kootenay Robusters Dragonboat Team: “Please enjoy this memorial bench in honor of everyone impacted by breast cancer.”

The new bench was sourced from a Canadian company and is fabricated to withstand the environment near a busy highway in all seasons.
